tERMS AND CONDITIONS

(a) How To Enter & Criteria

  • Submission portal & deadline. All entries must be uploaded via the MOG Eyewear submission portal at https://mog.com.my/raya-short-film-competition-2026 and received by 5:00 pm (MYT) on 9th March 2026. Late or incomplete submissions will be disqualified.
  • Entry form. Participants must complete the online Entry Form during the competition period.
  • YouTube upload. Upload each video to the participant’s YouTube channel at 1080p quality. Each upload must be set to Unlisted and must include full credits and descriptions. Entries must not be published publicly prior to MOG Eyewear’s official posting.
  • Provide links and details. The Entry Form must include the YouTube URLs and full video descriptions. All information submitted must be true, complete and accurate.

(b) Eligibility

  • Who may enter. The competition is open to individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry, are currently enrolled as students in a higher-education institution in Malaysia, and are Malaysian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Team structure. Teams may have up to four (4) members. Each team must appoint one representative (the “captain”). The submitter warrants they are authorised to act for the entire team. Any prize awarded to a team will be issued to the captain, who is responsible for distribution among team members.
  • Prior screenings. Works previously entered in other competitions or festivals are ineligible. Exception: works publicly screened only as part of a university-mandated showcase are permitted if the Entry includes a scanned student ID (front and back) and a lecturer’s verification letter confirming current enrolment and that the screening was university-mandated.
  • Language and subtitles. Dialogue may be in any vernacular language of Malaysia, provided the entry includes accurate English subtitles.
  • Originality. All elements of each Entry must be original creations of the participant, except for permitted incorporation of MOG Eyewear products.
  • No fee. There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary to participate or win.

(c) Selection of Winners

  • Shortlist and winners. Ten (10) entries will be shortlisted. From those, five (5) teams will be selected as winners.
  • Shortlisting. A panel appointed by MOG Eyewear will shortlist ten (10) entries. Shortlisting will be based on the following criteria: originality, creativity, content relevance, storytelling ability, direction, emotional engagement and performance quality.
  • Final winners. Five (5) winners will be selected from the ten shortlisted entries. Winner selection will be determined by two parallel measures:
    a. Public engagement: number of engagement (likes & shares) recorded on the video as posted on MOG Eyewear’s official YouTube channel during the public voting window announced by MOG Eyewear.
     b. Jury evaluation: the adjudication panel’s review of the shortlisted entries using the same criteria as the shortlisting stage (originality; creativity; content relevance; storytelling; direction; emotional engagement; performance).
  • Combined outcome. The final winners will be chosen by combining public engagement results and the jury evaluation as outlined in the competition guidelines.
  • Finality. All decisions by MOG Eyewear and the appointed panel are final. No appeals will be accepted.
  • Notification of shortlisted participants. Shortlisted participants will be contacted using the details supplied in their entry form and will be required to provide final video assets and full descriptions for publishing.
  • Announcement of winners. Winners will be announced online on MOG Eyewear’s official channels. MOG Eyewear will use the contact details provided to notify winners of their selection.
  • Failure to respond. If a shortlisted participant or winner cannot be contacted within the timeframe specified by MOG Eyewear, the participant may be disqualified and an alternative selected at MOG Eyewear’s discretion.

 

 

(d) General Terms and Conditions

  • One entry per team. Only one entry is allowed per team.
  • Clear title and rights. Each Entry must be free of liens, encumbrances and third-party claims and must not be subject to any contractual restriction that would prevent MOG Eyewear’s use of the Entry.
  • Ownership of winning entries. Upon selection as a Winner, all rights, title and interest in the winning video(s) will be assigned to MOG Eyewear.
  • Licence for all entries. By submitting an Entry, each participant grants MOG Eyewear a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, broadcast, stream and create derivative works from the Entry and to authorise third parties to do the same for MOG Eyewear’s marketing and corporate purposes.
  • AI content. Entries consisting mainly of AI-generated video, images, dialogue or music are ineligible. AI tools may only be used to assist or enhance primarily human-created material in post-production. MOG Eyewear will determine compliance at its sole discretion.
  • Binding rules. Participation constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and of MOG Eyewear’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the competition.
  • Content standards. Entries must not contain profanity, nudity, sexual content, graphic violence, references to alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs, defamatory statements or any material that is unlawful or deemed inappropriate by MOG Eyewear. Such entries will be disqualified.
  • IP infringement. Entries that infringe intellectual property or other third-party rights will be disqualified. Entrants are responsible for securing all necessary rights, releases and licences (including music sync licences).
  • Indemnity. Participants warrant that they have the right to submit the Entry and agree to indemnify MOG Eyewear against any claim arising from the Entry’s content or the submission process.
  • Production costs. All costs for producing Entries are the sole responsibility of entrants.
  • Taxes and fees. MOG Eyewear is not responsible for any taxes, duties, customs fees or tariffs incurred by participants.
  • Use of shortlisted and winning videos. Shortlisted and winning videos may be featured on MOG Eyewear’s official websites, social media channels and selected marketing touchpoints.
  • No return. Entries and submitted materials will not be returned.
